About

Hello!

Thank you for visiting my website!

My name is Richard Collins, and this website will serve as a place for me to periodically post articles about a variety of things. I hope you enjoy the articles and come back to visit often. I would also encourage your feedback!

Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I grew up in church. I knew a lot about Jesus because of this exposure to church, but I didn’t know Jesus until I was 16. I had an experience like no other when he reached down and took my dead heart and gave it life!

I went to college at Southeastern in Wake Forest, NC and then went to Seminary at Liberty in Lynchburg, VA through their online classes. I was first called into full-time vocational ministry in June of 2007 at Shenandoah Baptist Church in Rocky Mount, NC, where I served as the Minister of Music. In September of 2011, I was called as the pastor of Happy Home Baptist Church in Nakina, NC. In July of 2019, I began serving as the Pastoral Team Assistant at First Baptist Church in Rocky Mount, NC.

I have written two books that are both available on Amazon. My first book, “The History of Redemption: The Cross was God’s Plan from the Beginning”, is a brief look at how the Old Testament is moving toward and pointing toward Jesus. My second book, “Hope in God: The Story of Ruth”, is based on a sermon series I preached and looks to finding hope in God when it seems all hope is lost.
